After the end of World War II, more than 600,000 Japanese were unjustly detained in Siberian concentration camps (Lageli) and became prisoners of war. A person who did not give up hope to live even in a situation where everyone despaired in too cruel days. That is Hatao Yamamoto. Due to the poor conditions in Lageli, there were people who died of malnutrition, people who took their own lives, and even fights between Japanese POWs. rice field. He himself was placed in Lageri, where he was forced to work hard with little food, but he lit the fire of hope in the hearts of many of his comrades with his actions and strong beliefs.
Kazunari Ninomiya played the heroic half-life of Hatao Yamamoto, who was a ray of hope in this lagerri, and finally made it into a movie this winter. Keiko Kitagawa plays his wife, Mojimi, and Tori Matsuzaka, Kento Nakajima, Kenta Kiritani, and Ken Yasuda play the detainees like Yamamoto.
To commemorate the release of this work, we have decided to hold a large-scale exhibition project in Maizuru,Kyoto/ Shinjuku, and Akasaka.
This exhibition will be held at the <Maizuru Repatriation Museum> in Maizuru, Kyoto, where the internees actually returned to Japan, the <Peace Memorial Museum> in Shinjuku, Tokyo, and <Akasaka Biz Tower SHOPS&DINING Atrium 2F. Exhibition space> will be held sequentially from November 9th (Wednesday). Many costumes and props worn by the cast in the play are on display. There are precious items that you can feel the enthusiasm of the production team who are particular about the details. There is also a commentary corner where you can feel the harsh lifestyle of the time, such as "What was Siberian detention?" and "What was the life of the detainees like?" It is an exhibition plan that allows you to deepen the truth of Rageri and the world of this work in each place.

Yamamoto, who was incarcerated in Lageri on suspicion of espionage that he did not recognize, believed and endured that he would spend days with his wife Mojimi and their four children in the Japan. In the poor environment, there was constant conflict between Japan people. Despite being regarded as enemies by Matsuda, who is traumatized by the war and decides to be a bystander, and Aizawa, a sergeant who wields the ranks of the former Japan Army, Yamamoto continues to encourage everyone without discrimination. In addition, he taught Shintani, a simple young man who was a former fisherman, to learn, and continued to talk to his countryman senior, Hara, who had changed under harsh circumstances. His actions and beliefs in his camaraderie gradually melt the hearts of the frozen prisoners.
Eight years have passed since the end of the war, and Yamamoto receives a postcard from his wife. The postcard, which went through strict censorship, read, "I'm waiting for your return." Thinking of his wife, who was raising their children alone, Yamamoto couldn't help but shed tears.
Everyone felt that Damoy's day was approaching, but by then his body had been plagued by a sickness... Yamamoto's body is deteriorating, but he never gives up on reuniting with his beloved wife. Lageri's friends, who adore him, take unexpected actions to fulfill Yamamoto's wishes, even though they are under strict surveillance. And the miracle that comes to Mojimi—
